Bloomfield House is one of the finest Georgian houses overlooking this U.N.-designated World Heritage city. Designed in the 1790s by the leading Bath architect of the day, it was once the home of the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the city. At Bloomfield, exceptionally elegant rooms, fine art, antiques and splendid views combine with impeccable environmental credentials. Bed and Breakfast guests enjoy full English breakfasts which are organic, fair-traded and provided by local suppliers.
Environmental seminars and conferences are also regular occurrences at Bloomfield. Some of these are run by guest organisations, others are facilitated by the proprietors, Karen and Robert Barnard-Weston, who also co-founded Bath's Farmers Market, the first in England. Seminar delegates are encouraged to bring their partners along, thus adding a relaxing weekend break to their professional sojourn during the weekdays. Others simply come for R&R: revelling and romance…
Accommodation ranges from cosy single rooms to stunning doubles with four-poster beds, each with an en-suite or private bathroom. All rooms offer television and video facilities. A library of books, movies and music is available. Guests may also choose from our collection of traditional parlour games and other entertainments, many of them antiques.
Bloomfield offers a wide range of services: you may wish to be chauffeur-driven to Bath’s magnificent new £30 million health spa complex. Here you can languish in natural hot spring water as you gaze out over the city from the luxurious rooftop pool. You may prefer a round of golf, a tour of Bath’s many architectural, artistic and historic treasures, or a day of retail therapy in one of Europe’s most stylish shopping destinations.
Local attractions include stately homes such as the newly-restored Dyrham Park and Longleat, ancient seat of Lord Bath. Stonehenge and Avebury stone circles are nearby, as are the Cotswolds, offering some of the most picturesque rural scenery and villages to be found anywhere in England.
Bed and Breakfast rates range from £60 to £120, including full English breakfast. House-trained children and, by arrangement, pets, are always welcome. Prices for fully-catered conferences and seminars are quoted individually.
